WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump will extend sanctions relief on Iran under the 2015 nuclear deal, while warning that it will be the last waiver, senior Trump administration officials said on Friday.

Trump is seeking for an overhaul of the landmark deal with the European countries in the next 120 days, or he will pull the United States out of the multilateral pact, the officials told reporters at a background briefing.

As Trump agreed to the sanctions relief, U.S. Department of Treasury said on Friday that it has imposed sanctions on 14 individuals and entities over Iran's alleged human rights abuses and ballistic missile program.

Trump, who has more than once threatened to scrap the Iran nuclear deal inked by the six world powers and Iran in 2015, decertified to Congress Iran's compliance with the pact last October.
